International Urogynecological Association (IUGA)
Advancing global pelvic floor health for women through education, research, professional guidance, and greater awareness of pelvic floor disorders.
Because Women Deserve Better Care
“In IUGA, we work every day to bring attention to the field of female pelvic medicine and to impact that female pelvic floor disorders have on the lives of more than 25% of women around the world, (some experts even estimate the number as high as 65%)! This is as unacceptable as it is shocking. We aim to educate and advocate for more attention about these preventable, treatable conditions.”

About
Patient Centricity - in IUGA, we understand that women are the experts on their own bodies and lifestyles. That’s why we include the input and perspectives of patients in the resources, programs and education that we provide to our members. And, just as we encourage our members to partner with their patients, we too have a responsibility to partner with patients, to ensure that they have all the needed information to allow them to be an equal partner in the shared-decision making process. By providing them information about their conditions and treatment options, we empower women to evaluate their options and advocate for the decision that is right for them as an individual.
