WHERE DO THE FUNDS GO?
The funds raised through STIGMA*STRIDE will be used to generate tools for the POP Awareness Campaign and to educate, guide, and support women navigating pelvic organ prolapse. The Association for Pelvic Organ Prolapse Supportis a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization; all donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
DO I HAVE TO REGISTER TO WALK?
Yes registration is required to participate in the walk. Reduce time in line with on-line pre-registration.
DO I NEED TO REGISTER MY CHILDREN TO WALK?
Yes, children should register. Parents/guardians can register children online or complete an offline registration form and sign the waiver on behalf of the child.
DO WALKERS GET A CAP & WRISTBAND?
Yes, registered walkers will receive an APOPS branded cap and wristband to show your support of our cause.
WHERE DO I PARK?
There is a parking lot adjacent to Pavilion 3A, overflow parking is available curbside on one side of the street next the parking lot or by the Coolwaters Pool Pavilion.
ARE THERE OTHER ACTIVITES?
After the walk, return to the area to lunch in the park, or utilize the Greenfield Park Cool Waters Pool, playground areas, golf course, or fishing lagoon. STIGMA*STRIDE designated parking areas are in the parking lots by the pool and picnic ground pavilion; in the event the parking lots are full, parking is allowed on one side of the street along the parking lots.
WHERE DO WE WALK?
TIGMA*STRIDE walk registration and starting point is located by 3A Pavilion and picnic grounds. STIGMA*STRIDE 1 and 2 mile walk route start points will be posted by the pavilion walkpath.
ARE PETS, STROLLERS, SKATEBOARDS, BICYCLES, OR SKATES ALLOWED?
We do allow strollers, but for everyone’s safety, we discourage skateboards, bicycles, inline skates, wheelie footwear, and pets.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
STIGMA*STRIDE is a rain or shine event. However, in the case of severe weather, we will cancel. In the event of inclement weather, we will update the STIGMA*STRIDE homepage on or before the morning of the event.
WANT TO VOLUNTEER ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT?
We need volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up, registration, and so much more. All interested volunteers should CONTACT APOPS for more information about event day roles and responsibilities.
